Welcome to Reef Tank Research, a hobby project with a clear mission: to collect, verify, and share as much reef tank knowledge as possible — in a way that’s understandable to almost anyone.
Too much information online is scattered, based on hearsay, or backed by low-quality images and vague assumptions. Scientific references are often missing, and that’s understandable: there simply isn’t a lot of research yet on many reef tank issues.
That’s something I’d like to change.
I’m not a professional scientist, but I aim to work as methodically as possible — combining microscopic imaging, structured observation, and cross-referencing with existing papers where available. My hope is to create a resource that not only helps fellow hobbyists, but also provides a stepping stone for future research.
This site will eventually include (but not be limited to):
- DIY dosing solutions
- Critter, pest, algae and zoa identification
- Microscopy at hobby level
- Case studies and documentation of tank health issues
I’m always open to feedback, discussion, or collaboration. Let’s build something better — together.
